A lot of places, yogurt shops, fast food, airlines, car rental, movies, etc offer some kind of loyalty program. If you shop someplace quite often take them up on their "Loyalty" offers. Before I ever make a reservation for an airline I join their loyalty program first, it starts to add up, maybe not a "Free" ticket but you get free upgrades and now a days since they charge for EVERYTHING your free stuff may include 1 free checked bag, 1 free drink etc. I have joined the "Regal Cinema" club, been with them a few years now, I also buy the "Entertainment Book”, it works like this I use my Coupon from the book so my ticket costs $6.50 or $7.50 and have them swipe my Regal Card. After so many tickets I get free popcorn, free drinks and EUREKA a FREE Ticket. With a family of four using the coupons and the free stuff makes going to the movies a little less painful. I have joined the Best Buy Loyalty Program. We go there all the time and get most of our electronics there. I get HUNDREDS of dollars in certificates a year. That pays for games the extras (like toner etc) for the big items I buy there. I joined the Blockbuster Club, (this one costs a few bucks but you get it back if you rent enough) every other trip we are getting one of our movies for free. A lot of the Entertainment Book and loyalty programs at fast food is "buy one get one free", go to lunch with a co-worker and use the coupon and split the meal, you both win! Give the coupon to your kid and his friend so they can do the same thing. It starts to add up in the long run. When the loyalty program is FREE it is a no-brainer to sign up, when there is a cost involved you need to think about it. I have signed up for a few that didn't pay out in the end. I just make sure I don't ever do it again.
